Selecting the correct packing for your application has always been a balancing act between different materials. Chesterton DualPac® 2211 is built to combine the two best and complimentary materials in one packing. Our parented braiding technology can be placed against the shaft where it will provide superior sealing with low friction. In combination with a high strength and resiliency aramid placed against the stuffing box bore, the solution will resist consolidation without shaft wear, providing the results our customers are seeking.

Every 12 months a horizontal split case fan pump required a replacement or repaired shaft, and a repacking due to high leakage from the use of Aramid packing in a paper stock slurry application.
Paper stock (slurry) reduced the packing life, and the aramid fibre material caused the shaft to wear excessively.
Extend MTBR (Mean Time Between Repair) to over 12 months.
Chesterton installed 10mm c/s of Chesterton DualPac® 2211 packing in the following ring orientation below.
- MTBR extended to over 36 months and continues in service.
- Savings realised due to production downtime, maintenance time and replacement.
- Repair shaft cost over the first three year alone were significant.
