Today’s customers see significant downtime and costs associated with installing noncontact rotary lip seals, and this presents a significant challenge during unplanned shutdowns and equipment that presents complexities with their disassembly.
There is currently no split polymer contactless sealing solution on the market that meets this need. For this reason, Chesterton is pleased to announce its New Split Polymer Labyrinth Seal (SPLS), a unique product that incorporates our latest polymer labyrinth seal design technology.
The main advantages of the Split Polymer Labyrinth Seal (SPLS) are as follows:
  • Noncontact split design: Extends the life of critical equipment and lower the total cost of ownership.
  • Simple installation: Maintenance-friendly, avoid significant downtime during unplanned shutdowns.
  • Made to Order: Standards and Customised sizes available and fast delivery service to customers to meet plant-wide equipment needs
  • Better reliability than standard lip seal: less wear on shafts and longer bearing life. It keeps lubrication in and seals out external contamination.
  • IP65 protection against water jets and dust

The added benefit of Chesterton SPLS is that there are no components to wear internally to ensure longer seal life.
